THE DIFFERENCE
In twenty years of teaching singing, Barbara Simon has developed an approach to training the voice that is based on the dramatic content of the songs. When you find an emotional connection to a song, your voice can open up quickly, and some technique problems fall by the wayside. Much of the lesson is spent analyzing lyrics and applying them to your personal experience. You also discover how the melody and lyrics work together to reveal a three-dimensional character and story line.
The program is well suited for beginners as well as students who have a background involving any kind of performance or music, dancing, acting, playing musical instruments, or song writing. The ability to read music is helpful but not required.
